THE ADVENTURE
A bubbly mystery and ten spiders to find.
Join Ivan and Toby the Leopard for a spooky-but-friendly Halloween adventure. The episode description introduces a pumpkin that fizzes and bubbles, an adult-led bicarbonate of soda and vinegar demonstration, and a spider hunt with counting from 1 to 10. Make a little more of your adventure.
Watch together
Open the episode on YouTube. Pause to guess what happens next, notice the bubbles or count the spiders together.
Pick a page
Print the whole book or choose a favourite activity. A single page is enough for a little discovery.
Play your way
Try a finger before a pencil, talk about the pictures and let your child set the pace.
Before you print
Use A4 paper, portrait orientation and single-sided printing. Choose “Fit to printable area”. Black outlines on white activity pages keep colouring clear and printing economical. No cutting is required.
What is inside?
Six activities: bat colouring, eight-legged spider colouring and counting, explorer ghost colouring, cauldron colouring, a Halloween friends scene, and a counting page with five stars, three bubbles and two pumpkins. A cover and an explorer award complete the eight-page book.
Free to download and print for activities together at home or in your educational setting.
Keep playing: build a Halloween basket →Watch, notice, count together
- Before the bubbles appear, ask: “What do you think will happen?”
- Name a colour and describe what changes: fizzing, bubbling or overflowing.
- Count the spiders together, pointing to each one once. Pause or replay when your child wants more time.
These are optional conversation prompts, not a transcript or an assessment. At home or in a nursery or reception setting, follow each child’s pace.
